Introduction:
A Goblin is a small green skinned humanoid standing on average 5 SBL’s (Standard Brick Lengths) in height. Although they lack physical strength with a short stature and slim frame, they are very agile. Their large eyes, ears, and long noses give them heightened senses compared to the average human. At one point, goblins were regarded as a savage menace that gathered in hordes to raid human villages. In reality, they are very similar to humans in intelligence, ability, and temperament. Goblins have been responsible for significant innovation in technology and magic. Despite that, the negative stereotype of violent agitators still persists. Our own adventure started with a goblin, Professor Humphrey Appleton, who provided us with invaluable advice and wisdom.
Investigation:
After shaking the terror caused by the Cerberus, navigating the rest of the labyrinth was easy. The magic compass safely directed us to the ornate archway carved into the stone of the mountain that marked the entrance to the Mad Wizard’s Labyrinth. On our way out the compass’s golden needle directed us to one final store room. We took with us some dry rations and other supplies. Still unsure exactly how it functioned we suspected the compass was unique and specific to this labyrinth. So we left it behind in one of the chests in that store room. Relieved to be going outside, we marched through the archway and stared high into the open sky with huge smiles on our faces. We followed the only path before us through the Bog Wallow Forest. We came to a cross road. Where we met a lone goblin and his pig.
Observations:
Anthony Piarais, the Goblin wore fine cloths and carried a large pack. His tricorne hat had a lamp that extended out from center. The pig, Penelope, who couldn’t look any happier also carried several satchels on her back. As we approached, Anthony beckoned us over. He pulled from his various packs several jars with mushrooms inside and laid them out in front us. Anthony was a Mushroom Trader. No doubt, Penelope was the mushroom hunter. My assistant, who is much more knowledgeable about the mushrooms of Bog Wallow Forest and their different effects took charge of the trade negotiations. Anthony’s mushroom selection included Sun Drops, The Lonely Man, Bonnet Caps, Blue Plate, Glitter Bombs, Gilly Sponge, and some squishy browns.
Conclusion:
My assistant finished bartering with Anthony; trying to get the most we could with the few gold coins we had remaining. We left with a small sack of the squishy brown ones, they were just for eating and Penelope’s favorite. We also got two Sun Drops and a Bonnet Cap for their medicinal potential in alchemical tinctures. Anthony shared with us where each path led. We took the one that went deep into the heart of Bog Wallow Forest.
