The cat continues to jeopardize those nine lives. The exploration of the “why” is one of investigation of etiology and beginnings or state of being. This can be a very dangerous expedition. Exploring why often takes the cat into to unknown places and situations. The cat is also at risk from those that work against it’s explorations. Not all want to know why or; more importantly, do not want any one else knowing why. I do not know about you but I would expect a few cat lives lost.
In investigations of “why” and the testing of hypothesis another vital question is “what if”.
“Meow”. This is a more risky proposition. This is a peeling of the onion with the surprise of the removal of each layer. The cat has to be quick and prepared even flexible for these changing circumstances. It is an exchange of risk for knowledge.
With this knowledge the cat is now exploring new worlds and going off to places beyond that of the known. The cat like the creationeer can now imagine infinite possibilities. Asking: “What if elephants fly?” and you have a story like Dumbo. Seemingly simple questions like what if you could travel through time? This brings up many questions that story tellers wrestle with, again, based on the science and technology as we know it.
If the creationeer completely throws the cat out into a totally make believe world does it follow a certain amount of logic? Will the audience believe it? This is where the creationeer’s work really begins. The “what if” question opens those doors of creativity and challenges the creationeer to make a believable world with believable behaviors of both the inhabitants and the environments to support the story. Well, kitty get those lives ready new worlds could be coming your way.
